Multi-Effect Evaporators (MEE)

In industrial wastewater treatment, recovering reusable water through Multi Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a critical step. However, the final RO reject contains high concentrations of dissolved salts and contaminants, making it unsuitable for reuse or discharge. This is where our Evaporation System comes into play — ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable handling of this high-TDS reject stream

Purpose of the Evaporation System :

The Evaporation System is designed to treat and concentrate RO reject water after maximum water recovery from the RO process. It helps industries to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) by minimizing liquid waste and converting it into a disposable solid form.

Our evaporation system typically consists of two major components

01
Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE)
  • The MEE works by using multiple stages (effects) where the heat energy is reused in each stage to evaporate the water efficiently
  • It concentrates the RO reject by removing the majority of the water content and producing a thick slurry
  • Designed to reduce energy consumption through steam economy and heat integration.
02
Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD
  • The concentrated slurry from the MEE is then sent to the ATFD, which plays a crucial role in the final stage.
  • ATFD evaporates the remaining moisture and converts the slurry into dry solids.
  • The final output is in a powder or crystal form, which can be safely collected and sent for disposal as per environmental norms.
